Encode Screen Recording for Snapper

Note: Since Snapper 6.6 MotionJpeg is no longer supported.

FFMpeg installation:

  1. Download FFMpeg (ffmpeg-master-latest-win64-gpl.zip is recommended) from below location:
    https://github.com/BtbN/FFmpeg-Builds/releases.

  2. Extract the .zip file to a temporary location (remember to "unblock" zip files from the internet in the properties of downloaded zip files).

  3. Locate FFMpeg.exe in the extract location (typically in folder ...\bin)

  4. Copy FFMpeg.exe (approx. 100 MB file) to the Snapper installation directory (e.g. 32-bit C:\Program Files (x86)\Anywhere365 Snapper\ or 64-bit C:\Program Files\Anywhere365 Snapper\)

  5. Snapper screen recording will now use FFMpeg. You can delete the temporary files.

FFMpeg will encode the screenrecordings as an .mp4 file. It may be possible to use your default media player depending on your system configuration.

Out of many possible video playback applications we can suggest VLCPlayer. You can download this at the following website:
