Configure popout webchat

Introduction

By default, the WebChat will be active in the ‘in-page’ mode.

This means when a customer clicks on the button to initiate a chat, it will open on the web page from where it is started.

When implementing this WebChat "in-page" mode to your website, this requires the ‘Reconnect’ option to be enabled, Learn More. As soon as people start browsing your website, the WebChat sessions will then be kept alive, so the customer can continue chat from every page they visit (on your domain).

If you want the WebChat to pop out an additional window, the following configuration must be set in the settings.xml (in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\WebChat_uccUCC stands for Unified Contact Center and consists of a queue that can be handled by Agents Each Contact Center has its own settings, interactive voice response questions and Agent with specific skills. The <windowpopupshowclosebutton> variable can be used to make the close chat cross (X) visible or not. True must be set in order to show the close button. False for hiding this.
