Installing CRM Service for Dynamics 365

You can use your CRM Customer Relationship Management, or CRM, is (usually) a software-based, data management method to deal with interactions with customers and potential customers. with Anywhere365. To allow for Anywhere365 to communicate with your CRM, you must install and configure the required modules according to the following steps.

Warning: The WS-Trust authentication protocol (username/password) that has been used until now to connect to the Microsoft Dataverse Dataverse lets you securely store and manage data that's used by business applications. Data within Dataverse is stored within a set of tables. A table is a set of rows (formerly referred to as records) and columns (formerly referred to as fields/attributes). [From: Microsoft Docs] will be deprecated starting on April 4th 2022. If your CRM Service for Dynamics 365 was configured to use this authentication method, it will need to be reconfigured to use an encrypted connection string to prevent service interruption. To do this, you must do the following:
1. Generate an connection string using the procedure described in Configuring authentication for CRM Service for Dynamics 365
2. Add or edit this value using the procedure described in To add or edit the UCC Plugin ConnectionString Setting.

Note: A CRM connector license specific to each data source is required.

To add or edit the UCC Plugin ConnectionString Setting

  1. Open the relevant SharePoint UCC Settings page.
  2. Select Plugin Settings from the UCC Config section.
  3. Add or Edit the following setting:
    ConnectionStringThis is the connection string* required for Dynamics 365 authentication. The only mandatory setting that must have a value.CrmService

*The ConnectionString will look something like below format, but variations may work depending on the CRM platform authentication setup by your CRM administrator:

Url=<URL of your Dynamics365>;ClientId=<your Dynamics365 ClientId>;EncryptedClientSecret=<your ClientSecret but in encrypted format>;AuthenticationType=ClientSecret;SkipDiscovery=true;RequireNewInstance=true

Add WebAgentService URL

  1. Open the UCC Config page on SharePoint
  2. Open the Plugin Settings list
  3. Add the following mandatory setting:

CrmServiceUrl https://fqdn FDQN stands for Fully Qualified Domain Name and specifies the exact location in the tree hierarchy of the Domain Name System (DNS). An example for [hostname].[domain].[top level domain] is [www].[microsoft].[com]/CrmServiceDynamics365 WebAgentService
Note: URL needs to be accessible from the WebAgent API service to the CRM Service.
Note: The CrmService name may be different if a custom name was provided . The URL values https://fqdn/CrmService or https://fqdn/CrmServiceDynamics365 may also differ.
